Design For Good; Creating products and services that do no harm
May 23 @ 5:00 pm - 7:00 pmFree
This month’s talk is very special as we are collaborating with the #CorkTechFest through a deep dive into ethics once again, this time with Niamh and Clodagh! Founders or The UX Book Club.
The products and services we create can do more harm than good to those who use them. As we face a crisis point where design and tech influence every aspect of our lives, we look at actions we can take to uplift, challenge and change the way we design to ensure good for humanity and the planet.
Find out why we must do better in the professional choices we make, and our power to impact positive change. Learn about everyday tech that discriminates through lack of awareness, unsustainable practices, inherent bias and questionable use of personal data. Join Clodagh and Niamh in a conversation about increased transparency and fairness in design and technology.
Clodagh is the Head of Product Design APAC for Iress. With over 17 years experience in the field of design, both as a practitioner and leader, Clodagh has worked across the private and public sectors, managing UX researchers and designers. Clodagh has decades of experience as a global citizen, designer and design leader, and continues practicing those roles with humility and a friendly smile and is an advocate for ethical design and tech.
Niamh is a designer and educator, passionate about the power of design in accelerating innovation and impacting positive change through co-creation. Niamh has worked with teams in the delivery of successful solutions and experiences for clients including Microsoft, Adobe, Wells Fargo, RTÉ, Fáilte Ireland and Tourism Ireland.
